Fight-back Activity

FIGHT-BACK and the Indian Medical Association, Maharashtra, come together to carry forward the mandate against female foeticide. The movement started on 8th march, 2009, when FIGHT-BACK declared it to be International Missing Women's Day and got IMA, National,to condemn this horrible social evil. Now, FIGHT-BACK will engage with this issue systematically and create a long term movement against female foeticide. The aim of the new campaign:

  • Have a response number/email ID where citizens can report rogue doctors. This will be monitored by fight-back and IMA to see that action is taken.
  • Create public awareness campaigns in concentrated bursts in geographical locations. We are starting with Mumbai as a pilot project.
  • Use localized and national media aggressively with the same message. We want to get into doctor's clinics too.
  • Create campaigns celebrating the girl child.

We will be formally launching

"Make Mumbai a Zero Femal Foeticide Zone"

on April 05th at the IMA center. Looking forward to everyone's support and active participation!

keep the faith!
